Thread Lift
Who is a good candidate for a thread lift?
Patients who are looking for a non-surgical option to lift sagging tissue. A thread lift will not produce a surgical result, but is a great option for anyone wanting some lift without the cost/risks of anesthesia?
Who is not a candidate for a thread lift?
Anyone who is taking immunosuppressant medications including steroids and disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), or patients who’ve previously had a reaction to dissolvable sutures.
What should I expect during my thread lift?
Your clinician will wash your face with an antiseptic cleanser prior to treatment. The treatment area will then be numbed with injectable lidocaine (This is the worst part because the lidocaine burns a little). Once you are numb, the clinician will make an insertion point with a needle and place the desired number of threads beneath the skin.
What are the post-care instructions for thread lifts?
You may shower after your treatment, but do not let the water spray directly over your insertion sites. Do not apply make-up or other skin care products over your insertion sites until they have fully healed. You may apply ice to the treated area for discomfort and take tylenol/acetaminophen.
Try to avoid exaggerated facial movements for one week after treatment. You may want to eat soft foods the first couple of days after treatment. Avoid exercising for 72 hours after your thread lift.
When will I see results from my thread lift?
While some patients see some initial lift immediately after threads, I tell patients to set their expectations for results low for the first 6-8 weeks. This is because threads produce collagen, and the collagen process takes time. Results look best around the 8- week mark and continue to improve.
What is the difference between smooth and barbed threads?
Smooth threads are smaller threads placed under the skin to improve texture, scarring, and strengthen the scaffolding of the skin. Barbed threads are used in areas that require more lifting. Barbed and smooth threads are often used in combination to enhance your results.
Neurotoxin
What is a neurotoxin?
The neurotoxins approved by the FDA for cosmetic use are Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify, and Jeuveau. These products temporarily relax the muscles to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
How long do neurotoxin results last?
Results vary from patient to patient and can last between 2-4 months in most cases.
What should I expect during my neurotoxin treatment?
Your provider will cleanse your skin prior to treatment and a series of injections will be performed in the desired area using a very tiny needle. The appointment takes about 15 minutes.
When will I see results from my neurotoxin treatment?
This can vary but most patients begin seeing results 5-7 days after treatment. Two weeks after your treatment you will see your final, settled results.
Can I work out after treatments?
It is recommended you work out prior to your injectables appointment and avoid exercise post-treatment. You may exercise the following day.
What is the downtime for fillers?
We recommend that you do not exercise immediately after your filler treatment. Occasionally, clients may bruise after their filler treatments. It is best to plan your filler appointments 2 weeks prior to any major event.
